Saints' Derek Carr finds Rashid Shaheed for 59-yard TD

DALLAS — New Orleans Saints wide receiver Rashid Shaheed made his presence known last week after Derek Carr hit him for a 59-yard touchdown. He took one snap against the Cowboys (1-0) on Sunday to prove he’s going to be one of the Saints’ go-to guys with a 70-yard TD score.

The Saints were leading 7-3 after an Alvin Kamara touchdown run on the first drive. Shaheed had clear separation from the start of his route on the first play of the Saints’ second drive. Carr’s pass went 50 yards in the air with Shaheed easily going into the end zone to put New Orleans up 14-3.

Shaheed’s touchdown catch was the longest the Cowboys have allowed since a 73-yarder by Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf in Week 13 last year. According to ESPN Stats & Info, it was the deepest passing touchdown — 50 air yards — allowed by the Cowboys since a 2012 game against Washington.

The longest play the Cowboys allowed in their Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns was a 29-yarder.
